Shrek the Ogre, 32, last week stumbled into the fighting arena of the king's castle hoping to reclaim his land that was supposedly stolen from him. What he received turned out to be quit different from the old swamp where he resides: a quest. But before he was surprised with this unexpected request, he had to fight through all of the king's champions, with the aid of his trusty donkey, Donkey.
At first the ogre reacted with indignation and anger at having to do the king's dirty work in exchange for his swamp, but later complied under the threat of hundreds of surrounding archers.
What has resulted is the transformation of Shrek into a national celebrity. The general public, through the media, have been closely following this monster's attempt to retake what once was his. After working their way through blistering cold and scorching desert, the ogre and his donkey have arrived at the island-castle which stands in the center of an active volcano, which is guarded by a ferocious, fire-breathing dragon. As far as our sources have confirmed, there is only one entrance into the fortress: a rickety rope bridge strung up 30 meters above the boiling lava.
"I don't care about the king's stupid [princess]. I'll do whatever it takes, I just want my swamp back!" Shrek the Ogre declared ferociously.
