Gale Force Strikes IGA!

High velocity winds from the north struck IGA and its environs Friday afternoon, creating a messy confusion.

The gale came in such force, it tossed about anything out-of-doors, tore up the roof, and even threatened the lives of three students. While attempting to save as much school property as possible, Joy Lee, a Junior, came within inches of a falling roof tile blown from the building. Similarly, two other Juniors, Weston "Weggie" Martin and Nathan "Kissy Boots" Bristow were nearly swept away by the wind, only managing to survive by clinging to each other and the bars on the main door to the building. In addition, electricity to the entire building and surrounding areas was cut for several hours. Since the power was cut at the end of the school day though, it only affected the assembly period. Nevertheless, many of the students were left traumatised.

"We almost died!" This was all anyone could get out of Martin for up to an hour after the incident.
